So this weekend we decide to 'plant' our seed balls - now we've only lived in our house since last August and it's the first time we've ever had a garden. Obviously before we moved in we had all these plans of beautiful archways, an abundant vegetable patch and other perhaps looking back now 'optimistic' ideas! Unfortunately aside from clearing out all the rubbish from the previous owner it's remained untouched, but it was such a gorgeous bank holiday weekend we thought it was time to make a start.
My 18 month old daughter Delilah wanted to help, which I was slightly sceptical about, but I have to say planting seedballs is the perfect activity to do with a toddler. I sort of indicated a direction to throw the little earthy balls in and off she went, after each scattering she looked very pleased with herself and I can't wait to do some more with her. She adores flowers and being outside, and this was such a lovely thing to do together, I can't wait until she sees the new Oxeye daisies that should come up!
