Hobbycraft Easter Goodies

I love Easter, I always have, from making little miniature Easter gardens at churches when I was growing up, to in recent years hiding foiled wrapped eggs scooped into colorful egg containers about the garden for the girls to find  - mine are always done in around 5 mins! I'm going to have to think of some harder places to find this year I think.

When I was at school I did a German exchange around Easter time and it seemed like over there that they went much more all out for the season. I remember how brightly decorated the houses and shops were, and all the delicious chocolates gobbled down before school! I think we do a little more over here now, but still not enough in my eyes! I think I love how it ties in with the beginning of spring and the positivity that naturally comes from that, the colours are just so uplifting and oh the food! I think there's a slight chance that I might be compiled of around 70% hot cross bun at the moment!

So I was so pleased to be asked to go and see all the Easter goodies available in Hobbycraft a little while ago. Straight away I adored these little calico rabbit ears, I love the simplicity of them as they were but knew my mini makers would want to embelish them! We just used simple fabric paint, but I think that if you wanted to go all out, glitter, pom poms and all kinds of things would look great on them. Bunny ears can be a bit hit and miss I think, and I think these are the best I've seen this year, I love the way they are a simple knot at the base giving them a slight retro feel.

These so cute little wooden bunnies also caught my eye - so pretty, I'm thinking I might thread a thin ribbon through them and attach them to their easter baskets, or perhaps make some jewellery for the girls from them - and if I don't manage that in the time I might just scatter them over our Easter table.

I was also sure to bag myself an Easter wreath as I so love doing an Autumn and winter one - luckily all our spring flowers despite the weathers best efforts have managed to bloom and will look so lovely intertwined with the twigs and raffia. I always love an Easter tree also, and while I have now put mine up, the weather is just to grey for photos, but I will definitely be posting it on my instagram soon.

I hope you all have a wonderful easter weekend, I think I'm going to go and ice my Easter cake! xx
