We recently found out about a wonderful competition from lovely personalised gifting company
Bags of Love in collaboration with The
People's Print - a collective who celebrate the new era of DIY textile design. It was founded by Dr Emma Neuberg and Melanie Bowles, the principal author of Digital Textile Design and Senior Lecturer at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. (Alie and I both have well used copies of Melanie's book and love it!)The competition combines Melanie’s love of print design and Bags of Loves' love of making personal, handmade products and is based on this season’s hottest trend in fashion – the floral print, and in particular
Paul Smith - one of our all time heroes! There's a lovely easy to follow tutorial to follow if you want to, or you can freestyle and do your own floral inspired entry.
Alie and I kept it simple and picked one of our photographs of daisies (the ultimate feel good flower) and used that to adorn our T-shirt - as who wouldn't want to nestle in a bed of daisies?! You'll have to hope over to the competition
