One of the first blogs I ever started reading was Design Sponge, I poured over it during university and even while teaching was constantly being inspired by the many creative articles and uplifting images they posted. So I was completely thrilled when I got a message on instagram asking whether I'd be interested in having my home featured on there - my little home!

In some ways our smallest room for our smallest girl reflects her perfectly, tiny but with the brightest pop of orange on the wall the drama of such a strong colour could be a bit much for most kids' rooms, but not for my little live wire!

Anyone who knows me will know how much I adore Ikea, you'd be hard pushed to find an area in our home that doesn't house their happy colourful wares. Even the girls do too and it's become a bit of a family day trip if we go there - the hotdogs and ice creams at the end might have a little to do with it also! I love the affordability, functionality, their ethical ethos and more importantly the classic scandinavian design.

My Grandma's house has a serving hatch in it, and I have always loved it. I love the passing through of delicious food, calling our for extra helpings and the way that it opens up a slightly darker room. When we first looked around our soon to be first home, the space where a serving hatch once was was all boarded up and I knew it was something we would reinstall as soon as we could.SaveSave

Hands up who has the post bank holiday blues? Meee! I'm pretty tired from doing lots of things outdoors (that and my first back to school/preschool run), I've definitely over indulged in chocolate eggs, and the house is still full of cake crumbs and toys but oh it was so worth it!

We decorated Delilah's room just before CeCe was born, she wasn't yet even 2 so while I had her personality and needs in mind, her own input was fairly minimal.
