I think I've mentioned before that I'm making my sister's wedding cake for her wedding in October, I've been furiously pinning away (you can check out my board here), but sometimes having an actual thing to hold, read and inspire is just the thing and 'The Handmade Wedding Cake' by Natasha Collins is just the thing.

In the last couple of years various blogs have celebrated May Day by making May Day posies to give out on the day (I think I was first inspired by Seeds and Stitches and the Little Greenshed). We've done it for the last couple of years and it's such a beautiful way to celebrate the time of year, and a lovely way to get childten making and thinking about the seasons.

Hands up who has the post bank holiday blues? Meee! I'm pretty tired from doing lots of things outdoors (that and my first back to school/preschool run), I've definitely over indulged in chocolate eggs, and the house is still full of cake crumbs and toys but oh it was so worth it!

January has a pretty bad reputation as a hard month, but to be honest I find February a much harder slog, cold and not quite yet spring and certainly with our family, plagued by those pesky school germs (chicken pox anyone?!) it's so easy to see it as a write off. Most of my favourite blog posts to read are the positive ones that celebrate the small things in life, happy lists, little loves and many others. So I thought I'd share some of my moments of happiness in the month here.

As I've mentioned before Alie and I have one morning a week where we try out different things floral/seasonal/wedding/ just-anything-we-love, and we thought we'd turned our musings to a Christmas table. This is a very image heavy post I'm afraid but we didn't want to miss anything out!
