So Mother's Day is upon us and as always the shops are going into overdrive telling us what we should be buying our beloved Mums, and while I'm not sure my mum (or me) would really like a bottle of talc or the general sugary flowery things the high street offers, I actually think the traditional giving of flowers is spot on.

Oh February, while the post Christmas lull has long gone this last month of winter can still be for many a little bleak. But oh for the cheery spring like goodness of the Narcissus! Positivity and joyfulness exude from this delicate little flower heralding the spring.

Roses will always be special for traditionalists, however this year we're all about the tulips. We love the fact that they come in a a rainbow of colours, from beautiful pastel shades to punchy reds like above, are all available around the same time as roses for Valentines day and generally for about 1/4 of the price!

While many sniff at Valentine's day as being over commercialised and corny, while it can be, I've got to say I really don't see the harm in a little extra prompt to show your love ones how much you care about them.

I have two little girls and with one at preschool I get endless beautiful paintings and drawing everyday when I pick her up, she is so proud of them and I love them, but unfortunately we just don't have the space to keep every single one.
